ROUTE OF ZARAPITOS

At over two hours of the tour will raise or lower the tide, so we'll have a different view of the bay and the flora and fauna as your state.

At low tide, the work of shellfish and birds in the winter will attract the attention of visitors. The cove at high tide will turn lonely and quiet, but with binoculars can see the birds resting on the rocks and islets, many of them wiping the plumage.

Route description

Route will begin on the beach of As Saíñas. Before us, behind the  mussel platform zone, is O Grove, on our left the isthmus and right Lanzada Island Toxa.

Both the beach and in the next, Fontiñas, find lots of seaweed and shells. After the beach Fontiñas, we will continue along the rocky shore to get into a forest of pines and eucalyptus. Shortly after we arrive at a tarmac path that takes us back to the coast. To our right we will leave the remains of an old tile factory. We find then to O Bico da Ra, one of the most important points of the inlet for the rest of the birds at high tide in the winter months which is usually populated by herons, egrets and many waders. Note the vegetation present, adapted to live in the coastal healthy environment.

Advance along the coast to the end of Pereiro  beach is a splendid vantage point of feeding birds in the area of O Couto. Once back in the next section, we will pay special attention as they have to walk along a road from which it gives a good view of the cove.

Leaving this road towards the coast again pass by and Saíñas and Fontiñas beaches, and we will see the rise and fall of the tide.
